Mapinfo Training - Day 3 - Extension Modules
The Day 3 modules can be used to replace any of the default modules for Days 1 and 2, or to simply form an advanced Day 3 programme.
SQL SELECTIONS
- More than one table (layer) at once
- The position of objects in several layers
- Counts / totals for numeric fields
- Counts for text fields
- counts depending on location
CREATING OBJECTS 2:
- Points in exact geographical locations
- "Holes" in area objects
- A boundary to exactly fit another
- Objects made by combining "islands"
- Objects made by combining others E.g. wards from output areas.
CREATING OBJECTS 3:
- Raster image registration
- Draw and use Buffers
- Geocoding: place objects by postcode (or similar)
- Create objects: place points by X and Y co-ordinates
WRITING MAPBASIC CODE
- Useful pre-written routines
- Automatically generating code
- Compile routines
- Call and run routines
- MapBasic code to create toolbars
DATA 2:
- Import data from external sources
- Redistricting as a means of data entry
- Link fields
- Link tables using locational elements
- Aggregate functions
